The DFC Long Block Crate Engine is a great option for the diesel enthusiast looking to replace the tired and damaged engine in their 2011-2016 GM 6.6L Duramax LML/LGH. DFC makes critical improvements to your engine to maintain reliability, even in applications with additional horsepower. One of these improvements is that every Duramax remanufactured engines receives an EDM oil pump shaft with a hardened dowel installed to prevent slipping to lower the risk of an oil pressure loss. DFC also uses Rottler machining equipment that allows for tolerances tighter and more precise than the OEM specifications. DFC makes sure that every engine is built to the same high quality standards by only using the best cores and rejects components that require considerable “restoring”. The DFC short block is machined with near identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that makes less noise and is more balanced.  DFC short blocks include reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, doweled oil pump, bearings, and rods.

Unlike some other engine builders in the industry that re-use wearing items like valves and valves guides, DFC installs all new valves from high quality sources like MAHLE or SBI and replaces each valve guide with a new cast guide in every cylinder head. To address common cracking areas in the cylinder head, DFC also machines each head to remove the factory hardened seat material. DFC then installs new SBI valve seats to help eliminate premature cracking, giving you a more durable cylinder head.

• Oil Cooler - highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.

• Water Pump - highly recommended if engine has over 125K.
• Evans Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion and boilover.
