STREET SERIES
DFC's SOA Street Series Long Block Engines include all of the inovations of the standard SOA Long Block but include a few key extras to further bullet-proof the Duramax. Street Series are Long Blocks with ARP series 2000 head studs or OptiTorque head studs depending on availability. They also include a DFC custom EDM doweled oil pump gear.
CALLIES Crankshaft
The Callies billet crankshaft is designed to be the last crank you ever need for your LB7 thru LML Duramax engine. These cranks are fully machined from domestically-sourced 4330 steel in our Ohio plant. Intended for the most extreme applications, some features of these shafts include large fillet radii across all journals, a nitrided surface, narrowed rod journals (2.154”), and straight shot oil holes. Additionally, these billet cranks are intended for an internal balance, resulting in reduced harmonics under high loads.
Looking for a new LB7 engine? Want an engine that will outlast the truck? Want an engine that will cut your cost of maintenance by up to half? How about fuel economy? This LB7 engine built by DFC Diesel just might be the engine you are looking for. DFC Diesel is the leader in aftermarket engine remanufacturing. Driven by quality and innovative processes, DFC partnered with Speed of Air™ and has developed a game changer upgraded crate engine. Not only do you get a remanufactured engine with one of the best warranties in the country (5 Years 100,000 miles)... you will get a whole lot more!
Things you can expect...
These are the real results! Not just a sale pitch. With thousands of miles of real-world testing and hundreds of hours of dyno testing... these results have been seen time and time again... they are... and have been repeatable! With Speed of Air™ technology and the drive of DFC Diesel to push the limit to bring something better to the market... This is the winning combination! Please give us a call if you have any questions... We are guessing you have plenty!
Long Block Engine Include:
To the best of DFC's ability they tested these trucks on a state of the art Mainline© Eddy Current Hub Dyno and utilized a Kane 5 gas analyzer on the dyno, and on road, to gather data. After baseline testing the engines are equipped with Speed of AirTM treated Hyperformance PistonsTM and Total Seal® Gapless ring sets. DFC's testing continues to indicate consistent, positive improvement and continue to add trucks for testing.
Your new SOA equipped engine is going to have a noticeable improvement and feel to the driver with how responsive the turbo is and the perceived feel of low end torque. As the engines burn cleaner you will notice the turbo spools quicker resulting in more usable low end power which allows your truck to get up to speed with less throttle input and maintain speed on hills easier when towing. While the peak HP and Torque numbers do not see any significant gains we have observed the trucks often having several hundred ft/lbs of torque lower in the rpm band which is what makes such an improvement in how the trucks drive. Most owners reported the most observable different after the first 1,000km (600 miles) of driving.
DFC makes critical improvements to your engine to maintain reliability, even in applications with additional horsepower. One of these improvements is that every Duramax remanufactured engines receives an EDM oil pump shaft with a hardened dowel installed to prevent slipping to lower the risk of an oil pressure loss. DFC also uses Rottler machining equipment that allows for tolerances tighter and more precise than the OEM specifications. DFC makes sure that every engine is built to the same high quality standards by only using the best cores and rejects components that require considerable “restoring”. The precision remanufacturing process makes DFC’s remanufactured Long Block Crate engine an extremely durable and reliable engine.
DFC Diesel Rebuilders prides itself in being the highest quality product on the market. This is why DFC can back their engines with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty that we stand behind.
DFC's engines have been re-manufactured to factory specs using all new industry recognized name brand parts that meet and exceed OEM specifications. The block has been professionally machined and bored for use with the next over-sized piston.
All New OEM or equivalent gaskets are used to ensure quality and consistency of our engines. Our Re-manufactured Cylinder Heads have all new seats, guides, valves, and stem seals as well as being resurfaced and magnafluxed.
Application Note: The specific brand of each component may change due to part availability at the time of each build. Parts are chosen at the discretion of DFC and cannot be specially requested. DFC uses only the best components sourced from multiple brands during the remanufacturing process and backs their engines with an industry-leading 5-year 100,000 mile warranty.
Note: $500 Crate charge is included in core charge total. Engine shipping crate must be returned with core engine to receive full core credit.
The SoA patented technology primarily consists of precise, CNC-machined indentations on the piston top, called turbulators, but most often described simply as “dimples.” This precisely designed and manufactured technology is executed to exacting tolerances under ISO 9001 quality standards. These turbulators create a thinner, well-attached boundary layer between the air-fuel mixture, its flame front and the combustion chamber walls. This thin, turbulent layer allows the combustion flame front to burn much closer to the cool metal walls of the combustion chamber, thereby increasing overall combustion efficiency. The result is significant reductions in fuel consumption, reduced emissions, increased torque and horsepower, improved drivability and pulling power. Lower soot emissions translates to better engine longevity and fewer service intervals.
SOA’s Hyperformance pistons also includes the application of aerospace-proven thermal barrier and anti-friction coatings on the piston crowns and skirts, respectively. The thermal barrier coating retains heat in the combustion process, thus providing additional efficiency and power. The anti-friction coating minimizes abrasion and resistance for even more efficiency. The combined technologies of a Speed of Air Hyperformance piston provide documented and significant benefits with a distinct value proposition.
To manufacture these custom piston kits, SoA has licensed United Engine and Machine Co. (UEM), a leading manufacturer of pistons with over 100 years of experience and a well-earned reputation for quality. As a family-owned and operated company, UEM has in-house design, development and manufacturing capabilities that allow this firm to meet nearly every type of engine’s piston needs.
