Bosch Fuel Control Actuator (FCA / MPROP) – 2007.5-2018 Dodge Ram 6.7L Cummins
Restore proper fuel pressure control with this Bosch Fuel Control Actuator (FCA), also known as the MPROP or Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR), for 2007.5-2018 Dodge Ram trucks equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel engine.
The FCA is mounted on the high-pressure fuel injection pump and controls the amount of fuel entering the pump to help the system maintain commanded fuel rail pressure. A sticking, worn, or failing FCA can contribute to erratic fuel rail pressure, poor engine performance, hard starting, or low fuel rail pressure conditions.
Seeing DTC P0087 on your 6.7L Cummins? P0087 indicates that actual fuel rail pressure is lower than the pressure being commanded by the engine control system.
A faulty or sticking FCA / MPROP can be one possible cause of improper fuel pressure control and a P0087 low rail pressure condition. However, P0087 can also be caused by other fuel-system problems, including restricted fuel filters, inadequate fuel supply, excessive injector return, pressure relief valve problems, or a weak high-pressure injection pump.
Proper diagnosis is recommended before replacing fuel system components.
Depending on the cause, symptoms may include:
If you're troubleshooting a P0087 code or fuel pressure problem on a 2007.5-2018 6.7L Cummins, verify the complete fuel system before replacing components to ensure the FCA/MPROP is the source of the problem.
