The 502-1-HSP, best known as the HSP Cold Air Intake for the 2011-2012 LML Duramax, equipped Chevrolet and GMC trucks. A cold air intake is one of those modifications that are step one for many people, and the HSP version of that Cold Air Intake is a game-changer for the LML Duramax.
Why would you need the HSP Cold Air Intake for the 2011-2012 LML Duramax?
Many people know that factory intakes on vehicles,, especially those turbocharged like modern Diesel engines,, are less than satisfactory for power. We also know that factory filters don't always last like we want and are usually not as efficient as we want to have. HSP Diesel knew this and saw with the LML that these changes needed to happen, and it was a perfect candidate for our Cold Air Intake Systems.
What does the HSP Cold Air Intake do differently?
The HSP Diesel HSP Cold Air Intake, on average, produces an additional 20 horsepower and 58 pounds of torque on the dyno. To do this, we increased the size of the factory intake to a 4 1/2" mandrel-bent tube. This gives you an extremely consistent free-flowing path that enables the HSP Cold Air Intake to outperform other intakes on the market. The HSP Cold Air Intake is paired with the HSP Diesel-style heatshield box. The heatshield box lets us keep the heated-up engine air out of the intake. We want this because cooler air is dense, and denser air creates more power.
