Break-In Procedure: All Industrial Injection short blocks and long blocks are required to be ranwith Joe Gibbs Break In Oil (not included) for the initial 300-500 miles.

Built in-house by Industrial Injection using over 40 years of diesel engine building experience, every Stage 1 Long Block features a fully balanced and blueprinted rotating assembly that is Sim-tested to ensure exceptional precision, reliability, and consistent performance. Every critical component is carefully selected and machined to meet strict quality standards, providing a solid foundation for stock or moderately upgraded fuel and turbocharger combinations.
The bottom end begins with Industrial Injection X Series Coated & Chamfered Pistons, balanced Cummins connecting rods secured with ARP rod bolts, a balanced Cummins crankshaft, and the proven Industrial Injection 12mm Gorilla Girdle with ARP Main Studs. This combination significantly improves bottom-end strength, making the engine capable of handling increased cylinder pressures while maintaining excellent longevity.
Performance is further enhanced with the Industrial Injection Stage 1 188/220 Camshaft, designed to improve airflow, throttle response, and overall engine efficiency without sacrificing drivability. New tappets, coated H-Series bearings, billet freeze plugs, and a complete refresh of the lubrication and cooling systems—including a new oil pump, water pump, oil cooler, Cummins oil pickup tube, and Big Iron oil pan—ensure dependable operation under heavy loads and demanding conditions.
Completing the package is the Industrial Injection Stage 1 CNC Ported & Polished Cylinder Head, engineered to maximize airflow and durability. Each cylinder head features precision CNC porting with hand blending, fire ring grooves for improved head gasket sealing, oversized 36mm stainless steel nitride-coated valves, hardened alloy valve guides, oversized high-temperature valve seats, drilled and tapped coolant freeze plugs, and upgraded 95 lb performance valve springs. The result is improved airflow, enhanced combustion efficiency, and increased reliability for towing, work, and street performance applications.
For proper engine break-in and maximum engine life, Industrial Injection recommends using Driven Racing Oil (Joe Gibbs) Break-In Oil for the first 300–500 miles. Break-in oil is sold separately.
