Upgrading to a larger aftermarket engine oil filter (such as a deep-style filter from PPE 114000750) on an L5P Duramax provides significantly more surface area for filter media, higher dirt-holding capacity, finer micron filtration capabilities, and a minor increase in total engine oil capacity.
